I found this crash to be somewhat amusing, in spite of the potential seriousness of it.
I'm very grateful there were no fatalities in this one, though judging by the condition of the hatchback, it was a near thing.
What on earth was she doing driving down a one way slip road for such a distance? Surely she knew she was going the wrong way when she had to cross lanes on Wellington Road proper...? (Don't say, "crazy woman drivers", there's plenty of men who would do the same thing
)
For those who think the impact didn't appear that heavy, it wasn't - to the RoadHawk. It barely jolted. It needs to be remembered that this was a laden truck, probably weighing at least three tons, against a small hatchback weighing probably no more than 700 kilograms. Had a camera been on the car, the same smash would have appeared much, much greater.
I gotta say though, I feel sorry for whoever was on cleanup. That was a heck of a lot of cement dust to clean up!
